How This Works

Medusa Rising publishes women. We publish new work by women that shares or aligns with a radical materialist feminist framework to support women’s becoming and world building movement. We publish at a pace set for full absorption and integration of the offerings you find valuable. We use a subscription newsletter platform to make sure that we can pay our contributors for work.

Four to eight times a month you will see: writing in all genres, voice-only podcasts, and artwork. Most offerings will be short and self-contained. Longer deep-dive work will come to you in series. Some work will be free to all on our website since we want women everywhere fueled up for the work and for the joy. The archive, comments, and some special events will be reserved for paid members.

We are always open for submissions on any subject or topic of feminist interest from reportage and memoire to policy and theory, and combinations thereof. If you’re looking for inspiration: we also suggest concepts or topics as they emerge and re-emerge in urgency or desire. We encourage women from all continents and backgrounds to share views on these and any feminist subjects. You may find those calls on the Contribute page of our website. || We do not charge for submissions, but we do encourage you to read a few posts (for free) before you do so. We kindly ask that you subscribe, at least for a while. We want to pay contributors, but we can't do that without reader support.

Subscriptions, per month for all-access*

The Corra Rate is a 90 day free trial for early-birds who join us in December and January. – In April, your subscription will begin charging the rate you signed up for. – After April, all subscriptions will begin with 30 day free trial.

The Yacumama Rate of $2 USD is offered as an affordable rate and covers our overhead.

The Naga Rate of $5 USD supports team’s time and labour and the project’s overhead.

The Ouroboros Rate of $8 USD gives us the little more we need to pay the women who contribute their vision, work, and voices to this platform.

The Pythia Rate of $12 USD invests in the ground-laying for the next phases of our contribution to world wide women’s movement: strengthening our witness and sisterhood, increasing flows of material support, and imagining new ways feminist organisations can coordinate globally obstruct the misogynist far-right and far-left and build the world women deserve.

The Eopsin’s Ward: If a post (or several) resonates with you, or you want to dedicate a post to a sister/beloved/mentor/ancestor, you may Ward that post for an additional donation of $2 USD. If you permit us, we will list you as a Warder on that post's permanent page, and your donation will assure more posts on that subject.

Medusa Rising Anthology: Subscribers at any rate who donate additional $20 USD will receive our annual full colour, print anthology of selected writing and art from the year. The Medusa Rising Anthology publishes annually between the October festivals of Diwali and Samhain and the December festivals of Hanukkah and Yule. Expect the first edition in 2026. Pre-sales to begin July 2026.
