Gathering of the Cancelled

Victoria Gugenheim, yes our very own, had a brilliant idea last year:

Create a conference for all the women creatives who have been cancelled for holding unpopular political views.

And then she did. Women Create is the world's first conference of, by, and for cancelled women creatives. Many of the artists are also the conference organizers. It's an all-hands, grassroots, world first, international kind of gathering.

Maybe they're gender critical fiber artists. Dozens of women artists from all over the world will be showcasing their radical artistry all over this event! The exhibition hall will be riot! Maybe they're woman-centered rock musicians. Maybe they're anti-hijab singers. They are all those and also poets, painters, sculptors, performance artists.

Women Artists Deserve Women's Solidarity!!

All these women have been denied work, maybe driven from their nations, or slathered with opprobrium, lied about and denounced by either left or right wing authoritarians and their anti-social-media minions.

Conference happens May 30 & 31 in London.

Victoria has been hustling hard. She found sponsors, who backed out. She found a venue, and then a new venue, but wow-oh-wow does the fee for that venue need to come from tickets.

It's been a journey. ;-)

Feature Highlights

Elly Arrow, in addition to hosting the essential podcast Red Light Exposé, has a background in fine arts.

The exhibition hall is being curated by cancelled ceramicist, Claudia Clare of Claudia Clare Ceramics.

The exhibition will include artwork from survivors from Nordic Model Now.

Also attending is Jenny Reilly of Women Won't Wheesht Scotland, a self taught textile artist with her beautiful handcrafted banners that have gained popularity in the fight for women's sex based rights.
